In the Boedo neighborhood you will find one of Buenos Aires most mythical corners, San Juan and Boedo, the Esquina Homero Manzi, one of the most celebrated tango composers of all time. This typical Buenos Aires neighborhood has traditional restaurants and coffee shops where people gather to watch tango shows or talk about soccer.
Once the haunt of thieves and slashers, a wave of immigrants gave it a new birth; it became a place of troubadours who composed the tango and the milonga so well known today.
Literary groups influenced by the pre-revolutionary Russian writers met in its bars as did the most famous composers of tangos. Soccer was well represented by the glorious San Lorenzo de Almagro.
The area retains its original atmosphere and you can still listen to the tango in its bars. |
